When someone wants to say something, the best thing to do is to say it—that affirmation—or a similar one—was made by Jean-Luc Godard. Or, simply, it’s relevant to remember that the director proposed something to that effect. Saying, shooting, proposing views of the world and of film—that attracts Rafael Filipelli. Is reflecting on film out of fashion? Fashions don’t matter, what matters is the determination of thinking of film, of putting it in the world, even if the world is bent on other things. In That’s All, Filipelli assumes and end and he does so from his most unique place, his home, and with his ideas and habits, and shapes one of those films that reminds us that cinema, at some point, promised to be signed, sketched out in a unique way and not just shot under formulas. That’s All is a film that reconstructs, with no few instances of emotion, the terms of auteur and independence.
